INTRODUCTION OF "Q":

"Q" is one of 70 Basenjis, worldwide, with a CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) number (44252), which means he has been tested for Fanconi Syndrome, CERF, thyroid, and Hip Dysplasia and these results are available for viewing on the public database. Not only has he been tested, but he passed all the tests and is certified free of these genetic diseases. Q's sire, Dutton, also has a CHIC number (46366) and passed all the tests, as with Q's littermate, Pi (44251). (Pi is daddy to our Pi-litter, whelped Jan 28th 2008.) Q's dam, Kokopelli, has also had all the tests, and passed them, although she does not have a CHIC number because these tests were not done in the same year.

Even before I knew my possibility to import Q, I heard from many different people about his lovely temperament. However, when I met him in person, after his 28 hour car ride through Baltic countries, preceeded by a trip across the Atlantic, I was amazed how calm and friendly he was. He is simply the friendliest Basenji male I have ever met.

Health and temperament, and also Q's strong topline with excellent tailset and flawless coming and going gait lead us to believe that Q will be a wonderful addition in our breeding.

"Q" might not be available to breeding in some central european countries, as he does not have his M3 molars.
